Travelling to Zermatt

Zermatt is situated in the Wallis Kanton of Switzerland at the head of the Rhone valley, close to the Italian border. It is easily accessible from the following airports: Geneva, Zurich, EuroAirport Basel, Milan Malpensa. For private jets, there is a smaller regional airport of Sion.

Approx. times by car/road transfer:

  • Geneva: 2 hours 45 minutes
  • Zurich: 3 hours 30 minutes
  • EuroAirport Basel: 3 hours 40 minutes
  • Milan Malpensa: 3 hours 30 minutes
  • Sion: 1 hour 15 minutes from Zermatt ( for private jets only)

Helicopter transfers are also available from all airports within Switzerland and Milan.

Commercial Airline

There are numerous options on transfer vehicles to and from the airport. We can arrange a mini-bus, taxi, chauffeur driven service or helicopter at your request. These need to be booked in advance.

For the ultimate in convenience fly by private plane into SION airport, from there you can be whisked to the resort within 25 minutes by helicopter. We can co-ordinate this for you with the use of our private plane provider flying from any airport of your choice.

Automobile

If you wish to drive to Zermatt you can leave your car in Tasch in underground secure parking and take the Pendelzug or cog railway into Zermatt, this takes 12 minutes. Alternatively we can organise a taxi transfer from Tasch to Zermatt where we will then meet you with an electro-taxi to take you to your chalet.
