Summer in Zermatt

Zermatt is a beautiful and diverse part of Switzerland and a fantastic place to explore. The vibrant rolling green meadows are interspersed with spectacular Alpine mountains and swathes of lush forest. Hikers can easily access a variety of trails through enchanting landscapes, with sedate paths through the beautiful meadows, energetic hikes up to some of the lower mountain peaks or more challenging ascents up steep arêtes. Walkers find themselves amid exceptional panoramas of the Western Swiss Alps. Zermatt boasts fantastic mountain restaurants for lunch, isolated lakes where you can sunbathe, read, picnic and swim. A walk through the Gorner Gorge is a must. There is also tennis, golf, climbing all under the watchful eye of the majestic Matterhorn.

For the more adventurous there is summer skiing, mountain biking, dirt scooters, the fun forest park with zip lines and rope bridges.

Zermatt is popular for mountain biking with several world-class downhill routes and many cross-country trails. It is also a great paragliding destination with spectacular scenery, fantastic thermals and easily accessible take-off points.
